In essence the Vedanta-sutra consists
of
four inspirationally sweet and wholesome chapters

the first chapters discuss the relationship of the living

entity with the Supreme Personality of Godhead

this is known as sambandha-jnana
or knowledge of that dynamic relationship

the third chapter describes how one is naturally active in a relationship
with the Supreme Personality of Godhead
this is called abhidheya-jnana.  

acting in that relationship one has sadhana-bhakti, or prescribed

duties in favour of the Supreme Personality of Godhead
